jubilee usa network partner case study

Situation
Jubilee USA Network (formerly Jubilee 2000), is a grassroots organization focused on debt cancellation of the worlds poorest countries. In 2001, Jubilee changed its name to reflect the furthered purpose of Jubilee Neworks  now over 60 organizations across the world, to see debt cancellation through even after the "jubilee" year. Jubilee USA now has over 8000 members in the USA Network alone, and has convinced Congress to pass initial debt relief that has leveraged $34 billion in det reduction.

Solution:
Recognizing the power of consultation and effective communication, Jublee Network came to CEDC with the goal of creating a new identity for their network, one which showed the outcomes of their actions as well as the remaining challenges. CEDC worked closely with Jubilee, developing a sharpened logo, business stationery, organizational brochure, and newsletter.

Instead of the heavy, interlocking chains of their previous logo, CEDC created a lighter chain which showed the "chains of debt" crumbling across globe. Their tagline became "...joining hands to break the chains of debt" an image which became the focus of their organizational brochure which featured a photograph of intertwined hands.

CEDC also redesigned the Jubilee newsletter Drop the Debt. Drop the Debt, which is used primarily as a fundraising vehicle, focusing on Jubilee accomplishments, current policy issues and actions around the US. It is distributed to more than 4500 readers.

Along with the organizational identity and brochure, stationery, and newsletter, CEDC has also assisted in the development of a new Educational Action Packet, a congregational brochure which has since been distributed in the tens of thousands as direct mail pieces, various flyers and action materials (cards, tee shirts, banners).
